Dataset:

Data Design - deliverables

  1. Dataset
  2. Slidedeck
  3. Process document
  4. One image to summarise the “vibe” of your topic

A dataset (Google Spreadsheet)

It can be composed of different sources (e.g., comments from Facebook and Instagram). It can and must be reworked (e.g., extracting the most used words in a list of comments and their frequency, categorising comments by topic). It can be multimodal (e.g., videos or video clips from TikTok, their author, and engagement metrics). It must include a description page where each column is commented on, and the process by which the data was collected and processed is described.

A slide deck (pdf)

It must contain 3 research questions For each research question, 3 findings must be produced, supported by data visualizations

findings are answers to the research questions, supported by visual evidence

Process document (Google Doc)

Explain with text and images the steps you followed to produce your dataset and analysis

Vibe image

  • An image that summarise the “vibe” of your topic/digital space
  • Total freedom: it can be a data visualisation ( ), a collage ( ), an illustration ( )
  • It’s not a cover but a visual summary of your topic, based on your analysis

Grasping the vibe of a set of objects entails perceiving both an overall unity as well as a logic of difference that makes the objects intercomparable Grietzer, P. (2017). A theory of vibe. Thinking with AI, 20.
