What Makes a Good Research Topic
A research topic is not only about the object of study. It must address that object from a particular angle, in relation to a concept.

Function of a Research Question
A research question works as a guiding device. It gives the project a line to follow through the different stages of research.
Its main job is maintaining the focus of the project.
Features of a Good Research Question
- Relevant
- Focused and Specific
- Complex
- Researchable
- Feasible
What to Avoid
- Avoid yes/no questions because they do not provide enough range for complexity.
- Avoid rhetorical questions because they do not need an answer.
- Avoid closed questions because questions with easy factual answers usually lack complexity.
- Avoid leading questions where you already know the answer.
