Micro Interaction
A micro interaction is a small interface behavior that gives feedback or supports a task.
Microinteractions are part of the interface’s Art Direction because they affect tone, responsiveness, and perceived quality.
Examples
- button hover
- loading state
- filter applied state
- form validation
- menu opening
- card expansion
What It Should Do
A micro interaction should make the interface feel understandable and responsive.
It can show:
- that an action happened
- that the system is working
- that input is valid or invalid
- that a state has changed
- that progress is happening
- that the interface is responding
