Usability Testing

Usability testing evaluates whether users can understand and use an interface effectively.

It Can Reveal

  • confusing labels
  • unclear hierarchy
  • broken flows
  • missing feedback
  • accessibility issues
  • unexpected user behavior

Basic Process

  1. Define the task you want to test.
  2. Ask users to complete the task.
  3. Observe where they hesitate, fail, or misunderstand.
  4. Ask follow-up questions.
  5. Turn findings into design improvements.

Watch Out

Do not only ask users whether they like the design. Watch what they can actually do with it.
